It failed to note that the passengers were only
released after Israel agreed to begin releasing
600 (other sources say 300) Palestinian POWs.
And that Reagan was viewed as impotent.
Stethem was beaten and executed after his military ID was found.
The hijackers were angry about the Navy attacks on Lebanon.
(Oh well! The attacks made Ron look tough to
America's brainwashed robots, so who cares.)
I had to put in the parts about Israel's role
as they were completely omitted by UPI.

Gunmen seize a TWA airliner carrying 153
people
over Greece as it was flying from
Athens to Rome,
forced it to Beirut, then to
Algiers, back to Beirut and
again to Algiers,
landing at 7:50 a.m. (2:50 a.m. EDT).
Groups of
passengers were released in
the initial stops in
both Beirut and Algiers.

aboard an
American airliner exchanged passengers
and crew today
for an accomplice released by Greek
authorities
and flown to Algiers at the gunmen's
demand.
They threatened to blow up the plane if
anyone approached it.
