The Pacific Pintail, carrying nuclear fuel
from France to Japan
changed course to avoid a mid-ocean protest flotilla as she
sails
through the Tasman Sea of the coast of Australia March 6, 2001.
The first
anti-nuclear protest fleet to sail into the South Pacific since the French
nuclear
testing at Mururoa atoll in 1995 claimed a high seas victory and vowed
to return
in greater numbers if the Pacific was used again as a "nuclear
highway."
