Upull De Silwa(R) from Sri Lanka holds a portrait of his brother Tharaka
De Silwa
during a rally against the South Korean government's crackdown on guest
workers
in Sungnam, South Korea, 11/15/03. Tharaka, a 31-year-old guest
worker who
was no longer eligible for a work permit, jumped in front of a subway
train on 11/11/03.
Thousands of mostly Asian guest workers scrambled to
leave South Korea or go into hiding
on Saturday, the deadline for 120,000
undocumented immigrants to leave or be deported.
