Polish Pilots Complete F-16 Training Course
27 June 2006 -
Three Polish pilots can now take the stick of the F-16. On
Friday, June 16,
they completed their training at the base of the 162 Division
of the National Guard Wing
in Tucson, Arizona. Lt. Col Roscislaw Stepaniuk,
Col. Zbigniew Zawada and Lt. Col.
Dariusz Malinowski received their training
certificates. By the end of 2006, seven
more pilots will complete their
courses and return to Poland. Under the agreement
of the F-16 purchase, the
Polish Ministry of National Defense commissioned
training for 49 pilots in the
United States. At present, Poland has 37 pilots
across the ocean and the
remaining 11 pilots will be sent to Tucson in the coming
months. The first
batch of four F-16 aircraft will arrive in Poland in Nov. 2006.
