Japan Coast Guard survey vessels anchor off the Sakaiminato port,
western Japan 4/19/06, after leaving the port to conduct a survey
of the waters near the islands, called Tokto by South Korea and
Takeshima by Japan, in the Sea of Japan, which South Korea
calls the East Sea. South Korea ordered a show of force on
Wednesday in its dispute with Japan over a group of tiny
islands, placing its Coast Guard on high alert, sending
20 vessels to the area and telling Japan to stay away.
