#4 failed to mention that much of the country
wishes it had the same lack of growth.

The last failed to note that Japan attacked Pearl Harbor to protect it's
invasion of South West Asian oil fields and that failing to deal w/ the
sprawl problem is a disgrace to those who died in W.W. II.

Oklahoma City - A 44-year-old geodesic dome may be saved by turning it into an office, shops and Asian community center. Bank One, the owner, planned to demolish the landmark, but the city postponed a hearing to May 16 to consider the new offer. ... 

Correction: Afton school officials asked the Oklahoma Supreme Court to overturn a lower court order to reinstate a teacher who was fired after facing marijuana charges, which were dismissed. An Associated Press item Thursday misstated that school officials had asked the court to reinstate the teacher.

Afton - School officials have asked the Oklahoma Supreme Court to reinstate a teacher who was fired after she was arrested on drug charges. Carolyn Weaver and her husband Joe were arrested when authorities found marijuana plants growing behind their home. Charges against Carolyn Weaver were dismissed after prosecutors failed to prove that she had any knowledge of the drugs.

Oklahoma City - Oklahoma is standing up to school bullies. Gov. Keating signed the Bullying Prevention Act into law, requiring school boards to adopt policies aimed at reducing intimidation and violence caused by bullies. Supporters say school bullies are a growing problem but can be helped with counseling so their conduct doesn't lead to future problems with authority.

Oklahoma City - The first population growth estimates since the 2000 Census show Oklahoma isn't keeping pace with the rest of the USA . In a 15-month period between April 1, 2000 , and July 1, 2001 , the population increased by only 9,443. Oklahoma is losing one of its six congressional seats because its population didn't grow as much as other states during the 1990s.

Tulsa - The surviving crewmembers of the battleship USS Oklahoma plan to donate to an Oklahoma history museum a plaque listing the ship's last alterations at a Philadelphia shipyard in 1928-1929. More than 400 crewmen died after the ship sank at Pearl Harbor . It was raised in 1943 but sank again four years later in the Pacific while it was being towed to California
