A house is shown during a test as the 'Wall of Wind' apparatus generates rain
and
115 mph winds for ten consecutive minutes in Sweetwater, Fla., Thursday,
10/12/06.
The Wall of Wind is a testing apparatus developed at Florida
International
University to simulate hurricane-force winds, which allows
engineers to see
roofing materials perform under stressful conditions and
understand
how horizontal rain penetrates through a roofs eaves.
