Pure Negligence Or
Deliberate Bull Shit?

12/16/99

Joan London of ABC 'News' turned
in the worst 'report' of 1999.

One of the most disgraceful 'reports' I have ever seen.

Joan went to the Fort Knox tank school.

Drives an M-1 tank and does commercials for Claritin all in one.

Notes the smooth ride but fails to
comment on America's suspension fiasco.

High speed capability noted but
didn't mention the overpowered engine.

Trained in the virtual reality simulator.

Grunts and howls were heard as she blasted 'targets.'
(In real life 'targets' are human beings,

often forced into service by
U.S.-supported war criminals like Saddam Hussein.)

Joan loves it. Interviews Army propagandists.

More tanks deployed than  special forces
during a crisis claimed the lie machine.

No comment on failure to deploy M-1s to Somalia.

M-1 is used to show "America is serious."

4 tanks/platoon. 45tanks/battalion

Trust between crew members noted.

Joan empathized w/ head nods. As if she knows.

All crew members help w/ maintenance.

Each track is made of 180, 90 lb. links.
No comment on susceptibility to
Land Mines.

They take several hrs. to replace.
But, again no comment on the main reason for track failure.

Crew sometimes has to close hatches for 80 hrs at a time.

Desert Storm was toughest.
Hatches were closed always because of nuke', chem and
bio weapon threats. No comment on Gulf War Syndrome.

Top secret armor mentioned.
Failed to mention "Chobham" or honeycomb/ceramic matrix.

'Hit by car feeling' noted by crewman who served in Gulf War,
when hit by enemy ordnance.

"Lead magnets."

3 machine guns noted.
No comment on the 7.62mm NATO-firing M-60.

120 mm main gun noted.
No comment about the Boeing AWACS deal.

Ammo is massive to Joan.

Sabot rounds mentioned.
Forgot to mention their possible role in
Gulf War Syndrome and radiation contamination.
Joan loads w/ a laugh.

Supposed to load in 8 seconds. Joan took 14 seconds.
No comment on blast compartment for ammo or the
M4 Sherman tank that incinerated so many U.S. soldiers.

"Boo ah!!!" yells Joan.

Joan goes back to class at another firing simulator.

Thermal sight sees 4 miles.

Forgot that it's maker is a China-lover.

10 different scenarios must be experienced
before live fire is allowed.

Joan is not even close when she fires 50. cal M2 on the test grounds.
(Note to ABC. Next time send a young,
athletic woman who has experience w/ weapons.)

Night fire exorcise against old hulls 1 mile away.

63 ranges.

7 days a week day/night.

Joan starts "busting big caps."

"Ever down a man just give me a call" says Joan

at the end as if she wouldn't get them all killed.

"Be my wing man any day" says soldiers.

"Understanding the consequences  of pulling the trigger is awesome"
says Joan, which explains why she made absolutely no
comment about the type of wounds caused by the weapons.

Training is essential was the main message.
(I.E. give us more $$$.)

Sequoias to 'report' about cars design titled:

Secret World Of Cars

Joan goes behind the closed doors of GM.

Fails to mention that it's gas guzzlers are a
prime cause of wars where the M-1 s to be used.

Voice-activated doors are on the way.
(How bout' some w/ crash protection.)

Visits a think tank that focuses on future.

No mention of need for mass transit.

Object is to find "new concepts that will keep GM in the fast lane."
No comment on environmental effects of autos.

$161 billion company noted but no mention about
use of  underpaid labor in Mexico and China.

Exciting designs are encouraged.

Corporate espionage noted.

Visits are done under escort.

8 design studios are in operation.
(More people than are involved in
finding solutions to our oil addiction.)

The "ews concepts" are 3 to 10 yr. in advance.

GM claims it knows
"what customers need before they realize it."

(Tell that to Ralph Nader.)

Giant video screen used for design.

"Fun computer game" says Joan.

A new car may require up to 4 weeks and hundreds of designs.

Design goes to brain storm group for accessories.

More voice activated B.S. planned.

Joan wants A.C. on right away
when she gets into the car on a hot.
(Fails to note that days will be warmer due to
fossil fuel-exacerbated global climate change.)

Joan goes on tour of the "cave."

White room can look like any interior due to virtual reality image system.

Caddy is under design today.

T.V. camera distorts the image.

Sculptors do full size model in clay.

Then hard foam is computer milled.

Paint is added.

More approval is then needed to proceed.

Takes weeks.

$5 million each. Most are never seen.

Security is tight. Model is covered for security against cameras.

"Ooh!!!" says Joan as she has 'honor' of
looking at  the waste of resources.

3rd level has several locked doors. Old ideas are stored here.

4th level
Old photos of all designs in corp. history.
Mid engine "aero vet" noted.

GM secret auto museum for concept cars is toured.

Car shows mentioned.
No comment on what a waste they are.

Good review = production decision.

Joan goes for test drive. Final step in design process

Test site 40 miles away.
Every imaginable road condition can be simulated.
Any time.

Hundreds of miles of roads.

Worst of everything but collisions can be tested.

Object is to break them all to see what their flaws may be.

4 prototypes look ordinary
but cost $20,000 to $50,000
but are worth millions in development.

Espionage noted again.

Vinyl exterior shrouds are used to foil photographers.

Only 1 place allows a person on

public property to view the cars.

Car spies are active.

"Why go there at all" was not asked.

Hundreds of drivers are used after they pass tests.

GM has it's own security for "Black lake."

67 acres for tests

Water is used to make road slick.

Car w/ ABM failure is simulated. Joan spins out of control.
Fails to note the thousands of traffic fatalities every yr.

ABM system is activated "Oh My Gosh" says Joan.

Trains to handle a tire blow-out.

Drives around circular track at 150 mph.

Tested for blow out using special tires that can be
deflated and reinflated while car is being driven.

Emergency personnel on hand.
(Fails to mention that emergency personnel are
often stuck in traffic as crash vics bleed to death.)

Steel roll cage used to protect Joan.
Fails to note that GM and other auto makers
were reluctant to put crash bars in car doors.

"No room for error" noted.

"Glad we didn't need these roll bars" says Joan.

Staying calm is the most important part.

People take cars for granted
No comment on inferior Mex/ChiCom parts.

Aerial photo shows poor design of GM complex
and massive amount of land used for test site.
No comment about
Urban Sprawl.
