Davidians Set For Release 4/19/06

The Waco fiasco was an outgrowth of the
Bush/Reagan PR effort to use
home-invasion arrests to convince Americans they were serious about crime.
The policy was not ended when Clinton took office.
Federal agents were after David Koresh
because of stockpile of AK-47 assault rifles.
They claimed they had reports that he was
converting them to operate in the fully automatic mode.
Instead of ambushing Koresh outside the compound agents decided
to call local 'news' reporters and force their way into the compound.
The Branch Davidians were prepared and fired their
M-43s right through the walls of the 'compound'.
The resulting death of 4 federal officers was played out on national TV.
A 51 day siege ensued, as did 'reports' that
Koresh was sexually abusing the children.
Janet Reno made the final decision to storm the compound.
Reno signed off on a 300 page plan that did not contain
a single word about preparations for a possible fire.
The resulting fire, killed many children.
And Started A Controversy That Lasts To This
Day.
