Small Arms Ban???

In theory it's a good idea.
The problem is that some people have a real need for weapons.

The people of Timor and Aceh certainly have reason
to fear Indonesia's, U.S.-financed death squads.

Without clear standards on what is a legitimate rebellion and
what is just a criminal gang the ban would be grossly unfair.

Unfortunately Bush is making no effort to formulate
a plan for dealing w/ the world's border problem.
And, that means plenty of politicians willing
to sacrifice their subjects over land disputes.

Just buy 1,000 AK-47s and some ammo and
you can fight over a chunk of desert scrub.

The Taliban must be laughing.
