White Anger Arises Again
Feb., 1999 Hartbeespoort
White racism has has surfaced again.
Roger Roman made the right move when he offered
to give half of his 32 acre farm to 11 black families,
whose ancestors were in the area before the arrival of the Euro-trash.Other whites didn't like the idea, because they think
it will encourage other blacks to move into the area. They tried to block the move and President
Nelson Mandela was forced to intercede.Mayor Pieter Rautenbach was originally against the transfer,
but has joined Roman in several town
meetings to encourage others to do the same.Roman says he has been "through hell" as
his so-called 'friends' have abandoned him.The govt. will be donating $2,800 to
each family's efforts to build a home.Roman is primarily a business consultant, and
says he wants to help the families start their own businesses.Fears run high among farmers, as some destitute
blacks have been forced in crime to survive.150 farmers have been killed over the last year, during robbery attempts.
