gathered at the weekend in a United
Nations-sponsored campaign to fight malaria, a
mosquito-borne disease that
kills a child every 30 seconds on the African continent,
or one million people
per year, most of them under age five. Branson, the chairman of
Virgin Atlantic
Airways, met with UN officials in Dakar to find ways to help combat malaria.
